More about this wine from Dão, Portugal
The Faisão wines are inspired by the bird of the same name - a brightly colored pheasant brought to Portugal from Asia. The wines come from the Quinta da Beirã, Beirã Estate where the vineyards are scattered at various altitudes amid pine forests.

This Dão DOC wine is deep, dark, rich and spicy. Dense, dark fruit notes of black plum, fig and blackberry set the tone while secondary elements of graham cracker, dark chocolate and dusty red clay fill the canvas. Working with that dustiness are teases of iron, nutmeg and vanilla. Made up of mostly Tinto-Roriz, this blend is full-bodied and great next to a campfire under the changing leaves.
