Oh my. This is such a great blend! Get more!
A little on the lighter-bodied side but still full-flavored, just enough fruitiness and a touch of spicy to round it out.
Linda
grilled meat or pasta night.
Carey
Smooth enjoyable red. Good with steak and with pasta.
Nicole
Solid, a lottle rough, but interesting
Sarah
Too high in alcohol, too hot.
Kimberly
Very versatile but time-after-time, each bottle has significant sediment at the bottom.
matthew
Enjoyed this with a friend
Liana
also excellent. Great bold flavor, packed a punch too
SARAH
Liked this one a lot. Not too bold, but rather fruity. Good with grilled meats or tomato based pasta dishes.

Vincent
Too much alcohol. Tastes kind of dirt-y without much else going on. Molly Dooker, another McLaren Vale, label is one of my favorite winemakers in the world so this was a big disappointment.
Daniel
Didn't like it at first - but, ended up liking it a lot.
Eva
Loved this one!
Valerie
A nice leathery tartness balanced out with a deliciously smooth and fruity after taste, color is an orangey red and fragrance reminds me of reading an old leather bound book by a cozy fire
Morgan
Too leathery, not in a good way. If you like being hit in the face with a baseball glove, this is the wine for you.
Heather
Great with some saucy bbq chicken thighs
Logan
Too shallow, neither X nor I liked it.
Amanda
Nice

The McLaren Vale is probably the most famous region in Australia and it definitely led the way in introducing consumers to wines of ridiculously awesome quality after the American market became flooded with cheap, oak-y Aussie vino. This little magical winemaking place is so cool we made this guide about it. The first grapes were planted in 1838 and the initial winery opened in 1850.
Full-bodied, dry reds are definitely the specialty of McLaren Vale, specifically those crafted from Australia’s signature red variety, Shiraz, which is exactly what we have here with the 2014 Quarterback Red Blend. The juice delivers a soft, well-worn leather with tart blackcurrant and blackberry at first sip. The lagging flavors include prune, cherry, and strawberry, backed by charcoal, toasted caramel, and toffee apple that ends sweet yet spicy pepper, anise, and jammy finish.
Try it with our Grilled Lamb Chops and Peppers recipe.
