More about this wine from Austria
Now, here’s a grape Americans don’t come across very often. Zweigelt — it’s a cross between St. Laurent (like Pinot Noir with some extra muscle) and Blaufränkisch (a very Austrian grape); it was sired by Dr. Fritz Zweigelt in 1922. Today, Hermann Moser, a 400-year-old Austrian estate, brings forth this spectacular organic red hybrid of Central European grapes. You’ll find its tastes are robust but gentle and fresh — a really stunning marriage of these two varietals that shows off their earthiness and fruitiness.
How to drink it

Pro Tip:

Zweigelt makes for a killer pizza wine, and, since it's warming up, we're using the grill for the 'za... Grilled Sausage and Fig Pizza with Goat Cheese.
