More about this wine from Mailberg, Austria
Let’s talk about Zweigelt for a second. It’s a lesser known grape in the states, but it’s a real crowd pleaser, and we here at WA hope it will become a part of your stable of wines. The grape is actually quite modern; it was created in the ‘20s by Professor Zweigelt, mixing the Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent grapes together. This love child varietal really caught on after WW2, and these days, the light and fruity Zweigelt is the most popular red grape in Austria. This refreshing bottle, thanks to the careful vinification and time spent aging in wood barrels, is a titillating alternative to Pinot Noir.
How to drink it
