More about this wine from Monterey County and Santa Cruz Mountains, California
Bargetto is one of those wineries we here at WA love discovering. It’s a small family-run winery that’s been making wine for three generations in the tradition of their Italian ancestors who emigrated from Piedmont to the Santa Cruz region in the early 20th century. Not only is the winery historic, it’s one of the oldest in the region, and they continuously put out the sort of wine with character and soul. Not surprising from their lineage — dedicated to excellence and innovation — and because this Chardonnay (with a pinch of Pinot Grigio for good measure) was grown within Cali’s Central Coast, where a microclimate of warm days and cool evenings allows the fruity smells and tastes in this bottle to really shine.
How to drink it

Pro Tip:

Chards do well with so many foods, but this one especially loves grilled seafood and chicken dishes. So enjoy this roast chicken recipe with a hint of garlic, perfect for that Cali-style fruit and oak.
